If you’re beginning your hair journey, you may be wondering what a ‘low manipulation or protective style’ is? There are two natural terms here, Low manipulation and protective style. So what do they mean? What’s the difference?
A Low Manipulation style is a style that you can leave alone once the style is done. The idea is that you are not constantly messing with your hair with you hands, brush, combs or other styling tools.
A Protective Style, on the other hand, is a style in which the ends of your hair are tucked away. The ends are not exposed, protecting the hair underneath.
Both low manipulation and protective styles help to grow your hair by retaining your length. Don’t get it twisted, our hair DOES grow, however, we do not always retain our length due to breakage.
